Host Your Own Screening of Killer at Large!

We are working in conjunction with Robert Greenwald’s “Brave New Theaters” to bring Killer at Large to the largest audience possible in an attempt to have the maximum impact on the Obesity epidemic.

(FYI, this document will be updated regularly once we work all the final kinks out of the process and we add more resources for screenings, including downloadable posters, artwork, discussion points, etc.)

  1. In order to host your own screening, you’ll need to sign up over at their website (click here) and pick a time and a place for your screening.
  2. Then you’ll need to buy a copy of the film here.
  3. If you’d like, some of the filmmakers are available to join in on a phone discussion after your screening.  You’ll have to work those details out with Bryan Young (his email is found on the contact page and on the Brave New Theaters website)
  4. In some cases, depending on scheduling, filmmakers might be available to attend screenings personally.

Once you’re set on those two items, we’ll go to work on publicity:

  1.  You’ll work with us to identify local press outlets who need press releases about the film, who might be interested in interviewing the screening host and the filmmakers
  2. Your city and screening information will be added to the list on this website and at Brave New Theaters.
  3. We’ll make flyers you can print out and hand out to friends and neighbors and others concerned about the single largest public health crisis facing this country.
  4. We’ll email you posters that you can print out to help make your screening a success.

Screening Materials:

You’ll need a lot more than just the DVD of the movie to have a successful screening and discussion.  In the coming week, we’ll have downloadable fact sheets, discussion topics and sign-up sheets for screening attendees who want more information from ShineBox Media and the Killer at Large crew.

Be sure to check back for additional advertising and publicity materials for your screening.

Also:

The screening must be free of charge where possible however a maximum charge of $5 USD (or equivalent local currency) is permissible where the cost of venue hire has been incurred.

It is permissible to raise money for your screening through any of the following means: - Purchasing copies of Killer at Large the DVD at wholesale prices (contact us about how) and selling them at the event - Holding a raffle or fundraiser for your group or organization or - Asking for donations after the screening.
