“Killer at Large” Earns Another Award

We were excited to find out today that the Salt Lake City Weekly awarded the film one of their annual Arty awards.

Local documentary filmmaker Steven Greenstreet explored the local manifestation of a national phenomenon in his Michael Moore-vs.-Sean Hannity study This Divided State. His follow-up project paints a bigger picture of an even more serious subject: the national epidemic of obesity. And the most fascinating aspect of his approach is how complex he makes the issue—a tangle of biology, sociology, psychology and even politics that makes it hard to toss off the old “eat less and exercise” rejoinder.   1. I would like to see some research done on Soy and Soy products. I read labels on just about everything I buy. Soy and/or soy oil, etc, are listed in almost every ingredients list. Everyone seems to think that SOY is a nice benign ingredient in everything. My husband and I lived in Portugal (The Azores), Germany, Saudi Arabia and traveled as much as our budget would allow. The Portuguese are generally shorter and stockier but their main food resources were fresh fish straight out of the ocean. They loved nothing better than “good ole American cooking.” My grand-children are getting fatter and their friends too. No one seems to be very concerned as our children and grandchildren are headed for difficult heath issues. Thank you for letting me vent.
