SCREENING IN UTAH

Local Obesity Documentary Producers Agree to Follow Up Screening After

Utah Premiere Receives Overwhelming Attention and Praise

Salt Lake City, UT - ShineBox Media Productions announced today an added screening in Utah of its award-winning film “Killer at Large” due to overwhelming demand.  Details for that July 25th screening are below.

“We had a sold-out screening in Salt Lake City and the reaction was so positive that we’ve had to add a screening in Utah County to accommodate people eager to see the movie,” said Director Steven Greenstreet.

“Killer at Large” is a critically-acclaimed look at the American obesity epidemic and features interviews with former President Bill Clinton, Ralph Nader, Neil LaBute, and bestselling author Michael Pollan.  Shot on location across the country from the west coast to the halls of Washington, D.C., “Killer at Large” provides a sobering look at what makes our nation the fattest population in human history.

“We made this film because this issue is the most important health and financial crisis facing Americans today,” added Producer Bryan Young, “In the film, the former Surgeon General explains why obesity is a larger threat to the security and stability of our nation than any potential terrorist threat and the reasons are staggering.”

“A lot of people will tell you that it all comes down to personal responsibility and what personal responsibility doesn’t fix, the free market will.  ‘Killer at Large’ proves without a shadow of a doubt that ‘personal responsibility’ and the ‘free-market’ are actually worsening the problem in pretty surprising ways,” added Young.
Greenstreet, Young, and fellow Producer Elias Pate spent nearly two years working on “Killer at Large”, researching the subject of obesity and its many contributors beyond the reach of a doctoral student preparing for a dissertation.  The screening at The Tower Theatre in early July garnered favorable attention from the Utah Department of Health and a member of the American Medical Association, both of whom are working with the filmmakers on private screenings for their respective organizations.

“Killer at Large” will screen in Orem at the Festival Cinemas at 959 South 700 East behind the University Mall on Friday, July 25th at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $5 at the door with proceeds being donated to a local charity.  Panel discussion to follow with filmmakers.
